It didn't take long for the Racer to wake up against Morehead State in the semi-final round of the OVC volleyball tournament.

After Morehead took the first two points of the set the Racers came storming back. Freshman Logan Su recorded three kills in a 8-1 run. With the Racers up 8-3 Morehead made a run of their own to take the lead 10-9.

The two teams traded small runs with three ties until Morehead recorded six straight points to lead 21-15.

The Racers battled but could merely trade points with the Eagles to drop the set 25-19.

In the second set the two teams played like to heavy weights in a championship bout. The game was contested to the point in which neither team led by more than two points the entire match.

After 15 ties and four lead changes the Racers took a late lead after a 3-0 run 22-19, and wouldn't let up. Two kills from sophomore Sara Hayden and one from freshman Jade Guo gave the Racers their first set, 25-21.

The Racers took the momentum from the previous set into the the third in which they never trailed. The Eagles did pit a comeback down 24-18, to tally six straight points and tie the game. An Eagle error and a block by Jade Guo sealed the set for the Racers 26-24.

The fourth set started well for the Racers once again. Murray State jumped out to an 8-4 lead but the Eagles had an answer coming back to tie the game at 13 and take the lead 16-14.

The Racers come back with emotional play which sparked a 6-1 runto lead 20-17. Hayden and Guo recorded a kill and block during the run. Two late kills from Logan Su, the second a game winner proved enough for the Racers.

Hayden had a game high 18 kills and a .571 attack percentage.

"Of course it feels awesom we've been working for a long time Coach Ping and I to recruit and build this program," Head Coach David Schwepker said."Our seniors Heather and Alison have really been what's helped build it back."

The Racers will advance to play the winner of Tennessee Tech and Austin Peay tommorow at 5 p.m.
