The aquarium houses the famous ugly turtle known as U.T. This alligator snapping turtle weighs 120 pounds. The aquarium is open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Choose from one of several hiking and walking trails at the Hot Springs National Park.
If long distances aren't your thing, consider walking one of the park's shortest trails, the Arlington Trail, beginning at the Arlington Hotel. You can also enjoy a scenic drive along North Mountain, have a picnic along Gulpha Creek or even camp at Gulpha Gorge campground.
Get ready for Kentucky Derby season with a trip to Hot Spring's Oaklawn Jockey Club. The track is currently open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. daily until Derby day for both simulcast and live racing. Reserved seating is located throughout the Grandstand for $2.50 on weekdays and $4.50 on weekends.
While you're at the track, visit the Carousel Terrace or the Post Parade restaurant to browse the collection of authentic antique carousel horses and to dine from a menu or buffet. Visit oaklawn.com for more information.
