Deal or No Deal: Murray State alumna appears on game show
Ashley Edwards
Issue date: 1/18/08 Section: College Life
Lewzader flew to Los Angeles twice in November to film the show. She said she wasn't sure what to expect from Hollywood because of all the stereotypes, but she was pleasantly surprised.
"They were all so nice," Lewzader said. "It was awesome. Howie is awesome. He is so freaking cute. If I could throw him in my suitcase, I would."
Lewzader said she didn't prepare any strategy for the show because she said the show is all about luck, timing and guts.
"You just kind of get up there and have fun," Lewzader said. "That was one of my favorite things about it."
Lewzader said she wasn't nervous to appear on national television because she enjoys being the center of attention. She said the enthusiastic audience kept her going.
"It was overwhelming and amazing all at the same time," Lewzader said. "I've definitely got the Hollywood bug. It was so fun and I would love to go back, but at the same time I was glad to get home to western Kentucky."
Lewzader said she was grateful to the producers of the show, John Quinn and Matt Laeson, for making her experience so special.
She said she was also appreciative of her family in the Murray State organizational communication department for being so supportive of her and allowing her to miss class so she could tape the show.
"It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never, ever forget," Lewzader said.
The first part of Lewzader's "Deal or No Deal" will air at 8 p.m. Monday and the remainder of her episode will follow at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

I just want to say that I really admire this girl and her dedication to the game of dealing. Just the fact that she would go out of her comfort zone and admonish all previous goals, just to win some cash makes me shake with excitement. (Continued…)
