Murray State made its first trip of many this year to Natchitoches, La., for its winter training trip. On March 3, the Racers took on Washington University of St. Louis in Natchitoches and will travel back this Saturday for their spring training trip. The Racers will take on Wichita State and Northwestern State March 20 on the 30-mile Cane River.
After its spring training trip, Murray State will take part in the John Hunter Regatta, held in Oak Ridge, Tenn. The Racers will once again host Alabama April 12 before traveling back to Oak Ridge to participate in the SIRA Championships April 19. Murray State will round out April with the Midwest Collegiate Championships held in Omaha, Neb., April 26.
May will start with the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia, Pa., May 9-10. May 10 will also be the NCAA Regional Qualifier in Murray State's third trip to Milton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn. Last year in the consolation final, Murray State turned in a time of seven minutes 39.18 seconds, good for fourth place. The Racers beat crews from Duke and Tennessee.
This year's crew includes 20 members: four freshmen, eight sophomores, five juniors and three seniors.
