On April 11 Murray State received the final verdict of a 6 percent tuition increase from the Board of Regents. Though some students may have breathed a sigh of relief that this increase was less than the advised 9 percent, the feeling was only temporary.

As the semester comes to a close, seniors and graduate students alike will be graduating and heading in different directions.

Some may go on to continue their education as others begin a career. But before these future Murray State graduates leave, they have a few memories and words of wisdom to share.

Associated Press

Officials violated state law by not conducting a national search for the state's higher education chief, and Kentucky should start pursuing a new permanent replacement, Attorney General Jack Conway said.

The search that lead the state's Council on Postsecondary Education to hire interim President Brad Cowgill for the full time post was not proper, Conway said as part of a nonbinding legal opinion released Thursday.
For some people, the prospect of moving to another country to live with complete strangers and study at a foreign institution is unnerving at best. Murray State is a temporary home to hundreds of international students every year, but only a small percentage of Murray State students choose to room with an international student every semester.

After spending his college career wearing Murray State blue and gold, former

Although Harper, a 6-foot-1-inch wide receiver, went undrafted in Saturday's NFL draft, the former Murray State offensive standout quickly signed a free agent contract with the Packers, according to a press release sent out Wednesday.

Many will go home and work to replenish their bank accounts after a year of college costs has taken its toll. Some will serve as an intern to gain much-needed experience in their field and improve their resumes, and some will stay in Murray to take classes to expedite the road to graduation.
With the arrival of the end of the school year, some students breathe a sigh of relief. Along with that sigh is a reflection period - a time to look back on the hard work one has done and the many goals accomplished.

Since April, the Organization of Murray Art Students has been recognizing students' talents with its annual art show.
